Hard Drive Data Recovery
Hard Drive Recovery
By Clifton Henry
Do you have a hard drive? If you have a computer, then you have a hard drive. The hard drive is one of the key components of the computer. The hard drive is the place where you store data for business, family, personal account info and so much more. Knowing that, it is safe to say that your hard drive is very important because your life is stored in those digital storage bins. If your life is stored within the bytes of data that fill your hard drive, you need to protect your hard drive so that your important personal data is secure and/or your business is protected from the unexpected hard disk drive crashes.
But what happens when you do have a hard drive failure or need hard drive repair due to damage or corruption to your hard drive? What do you do when you need to recover data from your hard disk drive and you don't know the first place to turn for hard drive recovery? Have you just lost years of your life in the bytes of data stored in your hard drive that no longer works for you? I hope that's not true but it happens. What can you do to ensure hard drive recovery?
Well, first of all, you can make sure you have hard drive backups done on a weekly basis (or more depending on how important your data is) to ensure that you are able to at least recover data up to the last time you backed up your hard drive . One important and easy way to do this is to get an external hard drive . An external hard drive is essential to backing up hard drives. It allows you to run software on your internal hard drive that will regularly backup data to your external hard drive on a set schedule. I like doing this because hard drive backup software will remind you to do this all too important task.
Second of all, to ensure that your MOST IMPORTANT hard drive data is protected, I recommend having disk copies (DVD or CD) of all of the data you just can't live without. This data could include your financial data, family pictures, business software, databases, and so on. I know this may seem time consuming in the beginning, but trust me you will be thankful that you stored your most important hard drive data on DVD or CD. It makes it so much easier to restore the important data back to your hard drive later.
Third or all, since hard drives can fail at any moment, it's important to get you purchase hard drive recovery software, just in case your hard drive decides to stop working. Hard drive data recovery software can be found at most computer stores these days. Generally in the store you will find a software section entitled " hard drive data recovery ". I know that was probably obvious, but when I was looking for a hard drive recovery software, I didn't know the first place to look. Anyways, you probably want to know how hard drive recovery software works, so I will give you a few features that you need to have on any hard drive disk recovery software:
1. Hard drive data recovery software will repair corrupted partitions.
2. Hard drive recovery software will fix boot disk failures.
3. Hard drive data recovery software can restore virus damaged file systems causing damaged FAT.
The way hard drive recovery software generally works is by examining the corrupted or malfunctioning hard drive with a hard disk utility that will report errors. After reporting such errors, generally the hard drive data recovery software will return possible solutions to the errors and ask for user input for the next step. Sometimes the next step to recovering the data is just by allowing the program to restore the found items discovered during the initial examination. Other times, you may be required to completely erase the hard drive or format hard drive to new specifications.
If none of the above works, you may need to work with a hard drive data recovery service. Generally, hard drive data recovery services can do things the average user can't. For instance, they can take the hard drive apart and scan the data on the disk into a special machine that they use to pull data off where the average store bought hard drive recovery software would have no possible way of doing. These hard drive recovery experts will generally charge anywhere from $500 to $10,000 depending on the severity of the problem, the value of the data, and how quickly it's needed. Only you can decide if the fee they charge is worth it for you. You may have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of data on your hard drive, so for you $2000 may be nothing, but if you only have a couple of papers and your favorite picture of a celebrity, then you may think $500 is a bit steep. Family data is priceless, so you really have to be aware of what you may be losing when deciding not to use a hard drive data recovery service when all else has failed.
I hope this has been informative to you. I know all to well how a failed hard drive can disrupt your life. I had my internal hard drive and my external hard drive fail in one day! I lost everything, and I didn't have my most important hard drive data backed up to DVD or CD that's why I told you that you should. Take this as a lesson and tell your friends about this, because you never know when they may need hard drive recovery. Hard drive data recovery is always needed at the most unexpected times. Trust me, I'm living proof. Backup your hard drive and follow the tips I've mentioned to ensure restoration of your data through your hard drive data recovery efforts.
